Club Trophies
There are a number of Trophies for model building and competion sailing that can be awarded to CMBC members. These are split into the following categories;
Trophies for Competitions .
Events for these trophies are normally held on Club regatta days.
Fast Electric Trophies;
To encourage the enjoyment, operation and development of fast electric models.
Flying Fish Class.
Racing 'Flying Fish' models around an oval or M shaped course for six laps, first past the post wins. A number of heats are held at each meeting and overall positions calculated for the day. There are six regatta days planed during the year, so there should be six opportunities to race but only your three best results count towards the trophy. If you miss a meeting it will not effect your chance of winning overall.
Note; The only modifications allowed are,motor can be 600 size, propeller can be changed and a maximum of 8.4volt battery pack can be used.
Open Fast Electric Class;
In this class any type or size of electric powered model can be entered and raced clockwise around an oval course for six laps, first passed the post wins. Scoring is the same as the Flying Fish Class.
Sea Jet Class.
Racing 'Robbe Sea Jet' models around an oval or M shaped course for six laps, first past the post wins. Scoring is the same as the Flying Fish Class.

Scale Steering Trophy.
To encourage the building and operation of scale models.
Events for this trophy are normally held on the six planned 'Regatta days' but only your best three results count towards the trophy, If you miss a meeting it will not effect your chance of winning overall.
The competition involves sailing around at scale speed a set of buoys layed out to form a course. Penalty points are awarded for sailing the wrong course and hitting buoys. The person with the least penalty points wins.

Yacht Racing Trophy.
To encourage the building and operation of Yacht models.
Events for this trophy are normally held on the six planned 'Regatta days' but only your best three results count towards the trophy, If you miss a meeting it will not effect your chance of winning overall.
All yachts race together but the results are split into two classes by size, one meter and above and smaller than a one meter yacht.
Sailing rules,course and number of laps are stated on the day.

OMRA Trophy.
Awarded for best performance/achivements of CMBC member in OMRA events during the year.

Trophies for model building.
These trophies are awarded by the CMBC Committee.
Dave Andrews Trophy.
Awarded to a scale model which was constructed by it's owner, completed and sailed at a club event during the year. The model can be based on a kit. Judgments are based on workmanship, overall. finish and performance.

Walter Wells Trophy.
Awarded to a scale model which was constructed by it's owner, completed and sailed at a club event during the year. The model must be primarily scratch built. Judgments are based on workmanship, overall. finish, performance and the realistic appearance of the model.
