A number of CMBC members took part in OMRA racing at Branston Water Park on Sunday 24th June, weather was overcast with showers but a good days racing was enjoyed with half hour heats in each class.
Results Mark and Rod's D class boat with a new engine producing more power ran well but the extra power proved too much for the drive shaft which sheared. Re design now under way.
Mark and Rod's B class boat did not perform to it's full potential despite great efforts by Rod (mechanic) and finally suffered a broken engine mount. It was decided the problems may have originated following a close encounter with a buoy at the previous race meeting (driver Mark) in Wales.
Mark and Rod's AA class boat ran well until it overturned with six minutes remaining in the heat following a comming together with Andy's AA boat ( views exchanged after race ) managing sixth place overall.
Andy's D class boat suffered a broken engine mount about halfway through the heat.
Unfortunately Andy's B class boat did not run due to radio problems.
Andy's AA class boat went well and finished fourth overall.
Barry's B class boat was going well following an engine rebuild but he then hit a buoy which resulted in a small hole in the bow and the engine carburetor ending up in the front of the boat without the engine.
